Just had my Van repaired from hail damage, The old style Camac 4 season hatches, where replaced with the newer type.
They have a small opening around the top section that is open all the time, supposed to allow any gas to escape out if using a gas appliance in your van.
I always though that gas being heaver than air it would go to the lowest point, being the door well where the vent is and it would escape.
The manufacture maintains that they don't allow water to get in.
We have only had the van back a few days, and most of the time it has rained, and that we have only travelled about 120k round trip from home mostly raining.
Butt we have found they leak water even if you are standing or traveling. Also I assume it would allow dust to get in.
Has any one heard of other people having a problem with the new type hatches.
I would speak with your insurer concerning the unit being prone to water entry. It would certainly be in their own best interests to see that a water tight product was fitted. Cheers.

Their have been water leaks with the new type of Four seasons hatch. A van parked near us last year had a leak around the hatch. The reason he was told was that the material [plastic] in the new hatches will not bond with silicon sealer.
