Absolutely nice looking setup.

However you will need to be very conscious of your of your weights. You could very quickly go over the max limits for both tug and van, then your insurance will be void.

Sorry for the negative comments, but I am just flagging a problem if a claim is lodged and you are overwieght.

Regards.

Hetho.

As long as it's a diesel, there will be no issues.  Van ATM 2500 kg max - diesel Territory max tow 2700.  Unladen TBW is 120 kg and Ford max is 270 kg.  Just keep it all with those limits and it's ok.

I had the 2011 Titanium diesel and was only rated to tow 2300kg. Had the heavy duty Hayman Reece pack fitted and brought it up to 2700kg. I have had many cars in my lifetime

and I consider the Territory one of the best in general. Great for smaller vans. Current van 23ft 6, so now Ranger. after Territory, Pajero, another good one to disappear.hmm

Dick.

Yeah Dick

Agree Terri is an awesome vehicle, just returned from Margaret River towing the Winne. Good ride and good economy.

Nice setup terriwa,

Airbags in the rear coils will get rid of the rear suspension sag.

36psi front and 40psi rear adds to better towing...when hot, front will be about 40psi and rear about 45psi.

Happy motoring! smile

Even with a heavy duty tow kit rated at 2700 Kg the RWD is still only legal up to 2300Kg towing. We have such a tow bar but it doesn't change the rated weight.

My 2014 RWD TX diesel is towing 1600+Kg but being RWD we found after 125,000 ks the CV joints were worn, the tail shaft also had a slight twist.

It had a slight noise and slight vibration almost from new, Damn Ford dealers said it was normal for the type of rear end suspension.

It has only had its first service with Ford, after an argument with the service manager, because I wanted to get services done early because of towing, I refused to go there again.

Too bad it was out of warranty by 3 years when it finally had failure of CV's.

Ford parts said they had to get a new shaft from China !!!!. It is only one piece and cannot replace the CV joints.

My mechanic had a special heavy duty shaft made locally with removable joints. Also replaced rear diff bushes because of splits in rubber.

New bushes are solid rubber with no molded holes so are a lot stiffer.

This is a great car apart from these issues, it has towed van and trailers for most of its Km. It has never let us down at all on the road.

It tows great and is very economical and tons of torque and handles well and is extremely comfortable.

Engine and gear box never a problem. Still has its original brake pads with 127,000 ks all round and still serviceable.

Services every 7,000 to 8,000 ks, every second service put EGR cleaner through it.

I consider the Territory to be one of the best SUV type vehicles in Australia, too bad they don't make them anymore, the diesel is terrific.

We wish terriwa all the best with the rig, service regularly and you will be very happy.

Hope we see you on  the road sometime soon.
