A new acquaintance of mine, has just finished his long stint of staying on the eastern side of Copeton Dams free camping area, being their for 2 months, whilst saving money. I met him out their 3 weeks ago after we stayed for a week also. At the time, I told him we stay there, exactly where he is camped a few times a year. So he told me he is seeing a "spirit" hanging around his camp, a ghostly figure, and it comes with the immediate area turning quite cold. We said, we had never ever seen anything like it and at times had stayed up to 2 weeks. Well anyhow, we had the odd cupper over at his camp a couple of times whilst we were there, and saw nothing at all. When we left, I left our phone number so he could get in touch if he wished. He rang last night, he was in Goondiwindi, amd he said he was chased out by this "spirit" saying that it looked like an aboriginal with a painted face and a spear. I said he must be hallucinating it, because we never saw it. So anyhow, I rang a friend whom lives in the local area, not far away from Copeton this morning, he is an aboriginal elder there, and told him of what has been happening out at Copeton, that this guy, I know was scared out of the place. He has just rung me back, to say, that a Cadigi man , was known to inhabit the area, in the late 1870's, after being killed by a white man there. So he said it means a bad omen for him to be back after all these years, but my aboriginal friend said they will go out to the spot I told him about to do a cleansing, and see if that will help. We were intending to go their again in a month. We are not sure that we will now.

I thought I added a link to a poem to reply to your post but it didnt work. Quite a few years back I done a job on a graziers property. I stayed in an old ramshackle cottage with only 3 or 4 rooms for about 3 weeks. The last night I was there I was invited to dinner with the station owners and the owners daughter asked how I was getting along with the ghost that lived in the cottage. After a long silence she explained that her little 5 yo girl used to wave at the old lady standing at the window of the cottage every time they drove past. The owners of the place just brushed it off as a joke but I can say I got very little sleep that night !!! Regards Pete. Ps google There is only the two of us here .

At the risk of drawing derogatory remarks I'll relate my story.
Litchfield Park in the NT about 25 years ago,, camped up near a small creek 1 metre from water,,, small ponds like Buley Rockhole,, great place you have to backpack in to get there a bit isolated.
3am needed a pi55 so got out of hutchie,,, real misty,,,,and mist on the water,,, well standing there starkers,,,, the hair on the back of my neck stood up,,, wow very strange feeling,,,,, got back to Darwin and was relating story and it seems this specific spot was the home of the local Kadicha man.
I can tell you I'm 100% sane,,, and if you told me this I would be VERY sceptical,,, but it happenned.
Once before a similar experience of hair standing up,, In Malaysia as an Air Traffic Controller I knew something was wrong,,, looked at radar screen,, could only be in one area,, yep it was and I had 2 aircraft about 40 seconds away from mid air,, one had descended to incorrect altitude.
say what you like I have NO explanation.
