DO35 hitch

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone can help me. I am about (well in 6 months time anyway) to swap my caravan over. I currently have a normal (50mm ball) hitch but the new one has a DO35. Is there a device that not only prevents the caravan being towed away while it is unhitched but also prevents the caravan from being UNHITCHED from the car while parked?

My current device works both ways (on and off the car) but the ads on security devices for DO35 are not so clear.

Cheers

Marken

Cruisemaster sell a lockable pin for use when unhitched. I read recently that someone has made a locking hitch that suits the DO35. I will try to find a link, I think my builder forwarded to all owners.

Looking further, it might have been an email from another owner. The only email I can find about locks has an oldish link for the updated Saracen lock designed for DO35 V3 and it's for unhitched use. The DO35 needs to be capable of fully articulating in extreme circumstanc wes and I imagine most locks would limit this movement.

Hi, I have a Kovix KVH 96 which is u shaped and fits through the hole of the DO35 hitch. It is very strong and has an alarm as well to notify of tampering. To prevent van taken off car I use a good quality padlock through safety chain onto tow bar. Regards

x2 on the chain padlock...except I use 2 locks keyed alike...just to slow em down a bit. When unhooked or stored.... I use a track pin out of a Cat D7 with a collar welded on one end.....and  small hole blasted trhough with the oxy.(too hard to drill ! ) for a padlock. Just drop through the hole in hitch and padlock...along with the chains...just needs a long padlock. Both these ideas will probably slow them up a fair bit...but if they want it...nuthin is gunna stop them in reality really .When i went to trim the pin up from blasting the hole..the slag and jagged bits gave the bench grinder wheel a helluva time ...those pins are hard!!

Cheers Keith
