On radio yesterday, the Australian commentator said to the Pakistan gentleman " what should you do now ", Paki replied " Pray, or hit the mats" .
I think Joe Burns was nealy doing the same when he got out.
Pakistan seem to be struggling at the moment with their young and inexperienced side but I would still prefer to watch that or the 50 over version of the game than the BBL. For people who have never been to this part of the world the Newcastle 500 showcases some of the cities attractions especially using the beaches, working harbour and historic buildings as a backdrop. It has been one of the most successful events that the Supercars organisers have introduced into their racing calendar and the huge influx of visitors to this region has been a great boost for the economy. Having said that I would not like to be a resident of the east end and I can understand why those who live there complain about the noise and disruption to their lives for the 2 weeks that it takes to set up, run, and dismantle. We are 25kms away in Lake Mac so the only real impact on us is the boost for businesses involved in restaurants, shops and accomodation etc. (unless you go into the city then it can become a real pain to get around).
Cheers
