All the clothes in a Charity Shop in the fire areas who can or may help.

A lot has been written and said about the devastating  fire that have effect many many people and part of our great nation.

People were left with only the clothes they were wearing. Soooooo

The Salvation Army   Red Cross  Vinnies  and others all receive donations of clothes for free. 

So why can not these companies allow all the racks of men's Ladies and Children's clothing to be loaded into a truck and transported to the areas and people affected by these fires.

They get the clothing for nothing. 

I am sure that there a many many charity shops like, as mentioned, that are with in a bulls roar of the areas concerned.

Or are they to interested in making a profit out of someone else who have been generous to donate the goods to them.

Simple.... Simple  ... way to help our fellow Aussies.

here in Gippsland there was so much stuff, including clothes, donated to recovery centres as well as the usual charities, that after a couple of days all the organisations asked people to stop dropping of clothes and other goods. Volunteers spent days sorting, re-packing and labelling clothes that were distributed to needy towns.

The thing about giving  clothes, toys, food ,ect

it does not end up in head office , cash does

 No I have no source. I was just sitting thinking that this would be a ideal situation to help the needy.

I volunteer in a op shop. and any clothing or other goods are given free to anyone in need if we can help. That's what we are here for. No money is taken , even if offered. We have had fire victims in the shop, and we are glad to help them.

Not pointing a finger at anyone on this forum. I'm sure everyone has the best of intentions. But I sit and watch the TV and hear everyone criticizing everyone saying "why can't they this" or "why can't they that"? And I'm sure some of the comments have a legitimate base. But the fires, and drought, are huge events. I doubt anyone can get their head around the logistics of what has happened and what now needs to happen. I can understand folks wanting help now. But how do you help everyone 'now'? I'm glad it's not me in any of the organizations trying to coordinate and meet demands. It must be a nightmare. The best of intentions will not be enough and feelings are going to get hurt for no good reason.

If we take a figure of 3000 lost homes and assume that each home had 4 mattresses in it that's 12000 mattresses. Ask yourself which shop, store, warehouse has that sort of supply? Let alone meeting normal demand. Same with TV sets. Fridges, and the list goes on. Then find the transport to ship it. And ship it where? Then store it where while being distributed.

Before anyone criticizes anyone I ask you to put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself if you could do any better.
