We are planning a trip to Stanage Bay in April, any tips on do's and don'ts? We'll be towing a 20 ft. off road van, water carrying capacity 200 litres plus 4 jerry cans for extra water. Duration of stay 10 days so water in storage won't be enough, has anyone sourced water there? What ( if any ) are the toilet facilities like? Showers no problem as there is one in the van.
Welcome to the gang Jeff, enjoy here and out in the playground.
Main advice from me is, drive to conditions and don't go too fast on the black stuff or gravel. You probably know that though.
There are a couple of spots that have non potable water but you might be able to filter it a couple of times to make it suitable for the aluminium tent. Take drinking water in with you though.
Maybe check 'Wikicamps' and see if any info there. You might find some in Shoalwater. Other than that you might have to do a trip to Marlborough.
Keep Safe on the rods and out there.

Welcome PAW, Your water will weigh 280 kilo. If you do carry that much water it is 28 litres/day usage I believe you should consider less frequent showers and wash with flannel and dish.
Contact Livingstone Council and speak to them about non-potable water for shower's so you can use your water solely for drinking
