solar panel regulator


I have bought another regulator with a LCD readout, the solar panels i have already have a regulator, can i just add this or do i need to remove the old regulator and replace with the new one, any advice welcome

 It will only operate correctly if you replace the old one.

I  assume you have portable panels with a regulator fitted. You should not use two regulators in the system as they are not necessary or desirable and might fight with each other,

so just use your new one.

However the best and recommended place for the regulator is near the battery so it senses the battery state properly. So I would recommend you put it there. ALSO the wires are often minimal on bought portable panels. They will work much better with heavier wires and there will be less losses of your solar power.  hmm

Calculating resistance for wire length is there & back ( + & - )
