Hi all, looking for serious advise as to how to carry my outboard motor on the back of my caravan.. I have two options I guess, one is vertical the other is horizontal.. I can fit both options on the back of the van using correct carrying cradles, but am confused which one will be the best...
I agree with outlaw40, a well known fact. It could be very dangerous.
You matbe able to do it, but, maybe speak to an engineer first.
good luck, I hope you realise a lot of these tinnies do laps of oz without moving

I made a metal outboard motor support bracket, the lower end of the support/bracket is clamped into the Jockey wheel clamp on the Horizontal Part of the "A" Frame., Note we also have a side A Frame Jockey wheel Clamp.
For additional stabilization I have tubes going to U Bolts at the front and side of the A Frame and the support Bracket,
Do not carry on the back of van. If you are using a roof top boat loader. Check out Boathoist motor trolly. It clamps inside the boat. Same with the fuel tank cradle. Safe from thieves. No weight on drawbar or rear of van.
