Not 100% guarantee that you will get all the swarf, but drill the hole carefully until you are just on the point of breaking through. Blow away the swarf and then put a bib blob of grease on the area, and carefully drill a little more, remove and clean the drill. Repeat until the hole is complete.
Thans for all the replays i will start when the rain stop in sydney maybe under the motorhome is no room for a drill ,maybe i will used a tap holder again i thans for the responce

I will due this way i think is best. For job under the motorhome no room to put the small diesel tank that came with te diesel heater thans Erad
What are you gong to do with the hole?
The material is High Density Polyethylene. It is virtually impossible to glue to and sealers will not seal reliably.
Cheers,
Peter
I will put a pipe to used fuel for my diesel heater the hole is only about 8mm i not remenber the name i orden special seal from ebay here in oz thans peter .I read all the work you done in yourmotorhome thanks again
Any drilling swarf will be relatively large - large enough to be trapped by the fuel filter in your motorhome. I would try to avoid getting any swarf inside the tank anyway, but I would not worry too much about what bits that do get in.
Thans again erad sorry i my esplaining is not the bestbut when i came to oz i not has time for english clases only works but best Now i can enjoy our beautiful land
