It would appear that the Israelis will be ready to release an oral COVID-19 vaccine within 90 days, yet where is the coverage of this story in our media?
TEL AVIV Israeli scientists said they are days away from obtaining the active component of a coronavirus vaccine that could lead to human testing as early as June 1.
We are in the final stages and within a few days we will hold the proteins the active component of the vaccine, Chen Katz from the Galilee Research Institute Migal biotechnology group told The Jerusalem Post.
The team has already begun testing on mice and is working with the relevant authorities to ensure the product will be considered safe for human trials set to begin on June 1.
According to Katz, since the vaccine is oral, regulatory procedures will be shorter.
The quality of this kind of vaccine should be closer to food regulations than pharma regulations or somewhere in between, Katz said. We hope that we will not need to go through the complete purification process like in the drug industry, because that could delay us.
In February, Migal said the vaccine would be ready in 8-10 weeks and have it market-ready within 90 days. Katz told the Post they were delayed because it took longer than expected to receive the genetic construct that they ordered from China due to the airways being closed.
The oral vaccine could turn this disease into a very mild cold, Katz told the Times of Israel earlier this month, adding that vaccinated individuals who become infected by COVID-19 would likely not be affected at all.

They may have stumbled onto something, as the claim to have:- Snip from the article spent the past four years developing a vaccine protect poultry from the avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), a virus strain similar to the novel coronavirus currently plaguing the world
I have no idea, if pride or politics, are involved to suppress this information
I would think that as there has been a lot of claims, about fast tracking a vaccine, by various sources, then not everything will be reported without cold hard facts
Anyway, 1st June is just around the corner, so we may just have to hurry up, and wait
False: while Israeli scientists are working on developing a vaccine for COVID-19, such a vaccine is not yet approved, is not already in mass production and will not be arriving in the U.S. within a fortnight.

I'm confused. MIGAL stated in February that the vaccine would be ready for human testing n 90 days, and now they are stating that human trials will take 30 days. That's 120 days, isn't it?
Katz, Biotechnology Group Leader at the institute, said: By the time the protein is ready, we hope to have found the right partner who can take us through the clinical stage. The clinical testing experiments themselves are not so long, and we can complete them in 30 days, plus another 30 days for human trials. Most of the time is bureaucracy regulation and paperwork.
. . .
Katz clarified that the 90-day time frame in the February 27 statement was until the product is ready for human testing, and said he still believes this is realistic. He said that skeptics should understand that his team is not working on new research, but rather customizing an existing innovation, meaning that a fast turnaround is realistic. He stated: The important thing is that we were working on a vaccine, unrelated to this outbreak, and this is a great advantage.
