Has anyone mounted one of the Chinese Webasto copy air heaters vertically i.e. with the long axis perpendicular to the floor/ground?
I read that as standing the heater on it's end. The answer is no.
The webasto can sit with the fuel inlet and combustion air inlet on the bottom ( going through the floor ) or laying on it's side with those inlets horizontal.
I think all others are the same but don't quote me on that.
Thx for the replies. The reason I was looking at mounting it vertically is that it is a much more efficient use of space in my situation. I also allows easy exit of the exhaust, keeps the fuel pump and fresh air inlet and fuel tank outside.
As far as I can see, the diagram from kgarnett is open to debate as to wether the out let should be at the top or bottom.
I have trial mounted with the hot air outlet at the top and it worked perfectly. According to teardown videos on youtube, I would imagine this to be ok, but will let you know further in a few weeks after some testing.
Once again, thanks for your replies.
