Hello, Just a quick introduction, my name is Chris, I am 59 and about to head of from Victoria to Northern NSW with a small 35 year old camper trailer Mazda tray ute, couple of surfboards and an XR250 trail bike. ha ha I am really excited but also very nervous as haven't done this before and actually dreading first time setting up the camper! Anyways I hope to learn things from every one on here. Regards Chris.
Welcome Christopher, If I may suggest that you trial your camper trailer thoroughly prior to leaving home. Also it would be a good idea to check the weight limitations of your Mazda ute as it seems to me you have a lot of gear to load.

Yes thank you for the reply, I have set the little camper trailer up and packed it up once, my ute is rated as a 1 tonner and its a very light camper trailer I forget the exact weight but will double check ( maybe 450kg) and the bike is 140kg so me plus another 100kg should be ok.Thanks for making me aware of that.
Just a quick message to say hello as we have recently joined the forum. My wife and I have been caravanning for 40 years and during that time turned over 6 vans and countless tow vehicles, including GMH, ford, toyota, mitsubishi and nissan.
We have travelled most of Aust from our home base in Perth, WA,. From Cape York to bottom of Tassie, and Steep Point to Byron Bay and a lot of places in between.
We use our van a lot, about 6-7 months per year and enjoy seeing the wonderful places our country has to offer. We do free camp as much as possible, but also utilise van parks in the major centres.

Welcome Bomurra, Hope to see you out there - Put some grey Nomads stickers on your rear bumper and one of us will find you.
PS You've tacked on to another post (no worries) but you may want to start a new post for yourself.

It looks like you have had a lot more experience with camping, than I have I am sure that newbies, (we were all at that stage, at one time), will appreciate your advice, from time to time
Possum3 has given some good advice
I have a Grey Nomad sticker, on the rear, and front of my RV, I also use free/donation/low cost campsites most of the time
