Why Oh Why?

Don't the Wallys trying to have Qld adopt Daylight Stupid Time also campaign for SA, the NT, and WA to all change their clocks to match the the other eastern states?    Just asking because some are trying to link the opening of the Qld border to new Federal rules for movement between the states.

Leave Qld as it is I say,

Having lived in NSW we hate daylight saving and now we are getting on in age and currently based in QLD I am very happy that our borders are closed in the most part to those who want to transport the China pandemic from the southern states.
They have had 18 new cases in Victoria yesterday....so blind Freddy can see why the borders are closed.

Being a morning person, I'm glad we don't have daylight saving in WA.

During a trial some years ago it was still dark at 7.30 am in March, when sunrise should be 5.30 am.

Don't want to play outside at 9.30 pm in the daylight, that's sleeping time............

Cheers Bob

Never did understand why it was introduced in this country.  It's a Northern Hemisphere thing, and is not suitable for Australia.       I lived for a while in Britain in the mid-'60's, and can understand their reasoning, but it's ridiculous here.

Beats me too.   I have lived in Australian states where it happens.    Also have lived in countries that use the idea.    Never found any advantage of the system.   Child care centres hate it.    Old Folk homes hate it.   Not good for teenagers going to school.   DV spikes at changeover times.   Road trauma spikes at changeover times.   Zero advantage for electricity providers.    Smart people south of the Qld border need to start trying to get rid of it.

It certainly doesn't do much to assist the man on the land especially Dairy Farmers - Unfortunately the cows cannot adjust to their life cycles getting out of synch, so transporting milk and other products creates a problem with the Dairy industry meshing with City norms.

For the same reason people in southern states do not want to keep the original time the same all year round. They do not want to.
