What's going on at Greens Lakes now?

I see there were long time no new posts here. Will the Greens open soon, as already did a lot of other free camping sites in Victoria? Any new info anyone?

According to Wikicamps, it is now open but maybe not the toilets until 22/6. Even then they may stay closed as I can't see the owners sending someone to clean then every two hours, as that will be the rule.

Hold on tight though everyone, this CV19 is not over yet. Things could and more than likely will change and not in favour of the traveller.

I am normally a positive thinking old Indian chief but starting to find it hard to think positive about this bloody CV19 mongrel thing.

Keep Safe out there everyone.

Thank you for a concrete info Dick0. I plan to go there this year, so I hope all will be OK in next couple of months. :) Now still in Lightning Ridge, NSW. Warmer here in the winter.

Keep well Old Indian. :) Hope to see you there this year. I think all ought to be all right. Some mongrels buggered it up for us at Greens this year ones more, but it shouldn't last more than one month. May be a week more. Keep staying positive! :)

Hi Kay and Dave,

I plan to have a spell at Greens late Oct to early Dec and perhaps other regulars will be there also.

And then back there again from New Year for about four months.

I am easily found East of the boat ramp... I fly a large Aussie Flag!

Latest update...Sunday 13 September.

Site is deserted and only open for day use.

Showers are closed. Toilets and Dump are open for use.

According to the Chairman and his unelected off-sider camping at Greens is very unsafe...to whom nobody knows!

Big weekend at Greens Lake with Melbourne escapees. My neighbours from melb are regulars here and were happy to be free again. We had a violent windy sunday recordeding winds gusts at 125kph average 75kph lasting till monday morning. Maybe some good news. Greens at 30% aprox overfloweds into the second lake via a channel. GMW looks to be putting a regulator

GMW looks to be putting a regulator between the lakes which will help maintain a higher water level in Greens. I hope they may even put some environmental flows to maintain the diverse ecosystem.

Some pics of the latest improvements would not go astray Greens residents?

I hope to be there within a couple of days. Looking forward to seeing the old place again.
This day last year I was there. The water level was low and only 3 other campers were there. Not much has changed I hear.
Will take photos when I get there.
