Road condition Innisfail to Millaa Millaa on Atherton Tablelands

Hi

If and when the Queensland border is opened we are planning a trip to North Queensland, we were planning to go from Innisfail up to Millaa Millaa.

Some years back authorities advised against using this road towing a caravan.  Don't know why.

Anyone got any info on that route.

Thanksconfuse

Was that way back in the dim dark ages when the road was just a gravel surface before it was sealed. It is now considered to be the best of the four roads from the coast to the Atherton Tablelands.

Whilst you are up that way, don't forget to visit the Nerada Tea Plantation.

Thanks Peter

Actually it was in the 90's, so I suppose they have had a few years to fix it. Thanks Mate

Definitely the best way up the hill from the coast to the Tableland.

The Palmerston hwy is one of the best scenic fully sealed coast to Tablelands roads of fnqld..But by now you've probably already found out .Ye Old Goat Track was replaced many decades ago.The Palmerston hwy is a-" cruiser-" of a road & very safe-- exc when -" foggy at top of hills-- OCC during winter.
