Have been a de-facto reader for years as my late husband (Jeff - solarpanel4) was a member. He died in 2017 and I have continued to travel with confidence, as he and I shared the driving and all the tasks that go with arriving, staying, and departure when on the road. I decided yesterday to become a member rather than lurk in the shadows as a guest!. Tug is a 75 series cruiser, and van is a 22' Galaxy, between them 900w solar and five deep cycles so really very self-sufficient. I only travel for the winter, and take my time getting where the road leads. This year was heading out but Queensland closed its border three days before my scheduled departure! So am suffering my first winter in three years here in NSW.
Thank you to all the members who give their advice and experiences so willingly, as it has helped me on so many occasions to sort out concerns I have had whilst travelling, or preparing to travel.
Welcome to the gang Mandi, enjoy here and out in the playground.
Good to see you have decided to stop 'lurking' and join up. As you know there are many helpful people here so keep on keeping on.
I too was heading to QLD. In fact, Townsville to see my daughter and the grandkids for winter but instead I am in North East VIC for Winter and slightly beyond as I have decided to put 2020 in the non existent pile
Is it 2021 yet
Keep Safe out there.

I think that the border closures, has caught a lot of travellers out
Hopefully, it will all be for the best, and I also hope, that by this time next year, the Coronavirus will have been eliminated in Australia, and travelling will be back to normal
Doug, I too have decided 2020 doesn't exist in my life! Trying to keep warm and ignore the messages from all the people I have met in my travels who live far north and constantly are reminding me of their 26 deg days! Richie, originally from SA, then NT, Vic and now NSW. TonyBev, I too live in hope we will suppress/eliminate this virus, but I despair at the idiocy of some in our society! So many of us are trying to do the right thing so perhaps that may outweigh the actions of others.
To all on the forum, keep safe and keep looking forward!
Thanks possum3 ... apologies for not responding sooner ... now in the unwanted category of having a covid case in the family (daughter's MIL who was in a nursing home) and my time seems to have been taken up with constant calls from her and the despair of not being able to go to Melbourne to help her.
