Vertigo

Hi all,

I was doing some work around the home the other day which involved about 4 hours of looking down scrubbing dirty concrete driveways and when I went inside and sat down, my head started spinning like you wouldn't believe, my nemesis VERTIGO had returned after an eight year absence, damn!

I lay in bed for 28 hours, asleep, awake, head spinning, crook as a dog. When I had my first VERTIGO attack my doctor gave me a diagram with instructions on how to do a manoeuvre to cure it, however I couldn't find it, so I went on to YouTube to try and find any instruction to help me and after checking out a few videos, I tried the manoeuvre that I could do on my own without anyone's help and unbelievably after one (1) manoeuvre it fixed the problem in less than 5 minutes.

For anyone interested in what I did go to YouTube and search for: Epley Manuever to Treat BPPV Vertigo, check out a few videos as they offer information on how to determine if it's your right or left ear that is the problem.

Hope this is of some help to anyone if orwhen this horrible affliction suddenly affects you.

Cheers

Steel Dog

Older people with head tilted down walking, it can be a Parkinson's issue. It is the first part of loosing your balance, hence tilting your head down to regain balance. My Dad had this form of Parkinson's Disease. He had zero shaking. He ended up in hospital quite a few times loosing his balance & bashing his head on the ground.

GP referred me to a specialist for BPPV - after taking a day off work and travelling 150k's and quite a few $ for the appointment I was very sceptical when he took me through the exercise regime including telling me I must sleep upright for at least 3 nights - 5 if I can. Thought it was all a load of bull. But it worked with no re-currance after 20 years.
