My daughter whom is 50% aboriginal, from a partner whom passed away, said she is a fond lover of the cheese, and the name does not worry her, especially because I taught her that sticks and stones will break your bones, but names will never hurt you. She said this today, and said she believes exactly that. She told me name calling to her is like water off a ducks back, has no affect on her. She is an old hardy soul from way back.

It is really not the protest that is a problem because in reality the majority of people can see how stupid it is.
Unfortunately it is the problem of the companies and manufacturers that bow down to their ridiculous demands.
The cost to business to change a name or slogan ore any part of their business for that matter can be destroying.
Most big businesses are recognised by something and their name features very highly. As Possum3 pointed out the name Coon was a mans surname.
Oh, it wont stop here, the town names listed above by Craig1 well be next on their list... really, some people should just go and get a job.
The biggest problem is that the silent majority just grizzle and do nothing. Until the silent majority become the vocal majority nothing will change. We boycotted Woolies milk to help the farmers. Woolies havent gone brook because of us but if others do the same then they may wake up.
FWIW I bought a bag of Chickos at Woolies a week ago. The checkout girl said they are selling so fast now that it's hard to keep up supply.
There's currently an outcry in Britain because they have removed the name of Guy Gibson's black Labrador dog off a memorial because of it's so called racist name.
For those wondering who Guy Gibson was, he was the squadron leader of the Dambusters Squadron during WW2 and somewhat of a hero.
It's just beyond a joke that governments and others are pandering to the Looney left wing permanently offended brigade instead of telling them to b#%@er off.
Why do people listen to the half educated idiots of the world?. In Toowoomba the "****** Brown Stand" at the football ground was changed because of the half educated idiot, Stephen Hagan. "****** Brown" [ his nick name] was a white football player with blond hair, the stand was named after him.
Hagan was also complaining about the name of Coon cheese. He is the instigator of the COON complaint.
Being white or black, dosen`t make you a racist. Idiots and fools however come in all colours.

I do have some Aboriginal friends, I like to think that I was never prejudice concerning a persons skin colour, and I also like to think that my opinions, are reasonably balanced
In all honesty, I was unaware that "coon" was a derogatory name, for Aborigines
I am not really concerned about the name on a packet of cheese
I am aware that Coon, was the family name of the founders, and I would not have changed it
What about all the pommy cricket fans? Will the Balmy Army be offended? And I could mention those pesky Kiwis. Even the Yanks could be offended. Let alone the wogs and sundry. Barry Humphries would be unemployed now. "Their a Weird Mob" would be banned. "Don's Party" wouldn't get past the first script.
Sheeeze. I think I had better go and clean out my collection of "Play Boys" in case someone gets offended about them to.

and black ashalt?? should call it boon cheese. when cops describing a black haired wanted person. black sheep. tyres are mainly black. black adder band. black ink and it will go on for the next black sunday stuff. grrrr sue
I notice that the campaign slogan is Black Lives Matter, not African American Lives Matter. If we are not concerned about opening a can of worms, then one could ask, what is an African American, and do we really mean "black African American"? Is an Egyptian or a white South African immigrant to the USA an African American? ISTR there was a recent case of an Australian aboriginal with US citizenship. Would he be just plain black, or would he be classified, albeit incorrectly, as African American?

Given this ridiculous and pointless movement, I assume that people with the surnames White, Black and Brown will be changing them to eliminate the inherent racism.
