Just read this in the UK Daily Mail. It refers to the Proms from the Albert Hall which we, along with a lot of others, enjoy watching every year.
"The BBC was understood to be considering dropping the anthems from the concert on September 12 amid fears of criticism in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement because of their apparent links to colonialism and slavery. Downing Street said on Monday the songs should not be dropped from the performance after the Sunday Times reported that organisers fear a backlash because of the perceived association the traditional anthems have with colonialism and slavery. This evening the BBC, in an attempt to defuse the ongoing row, said a new arrangement of Jerusalem will be performed, along with orchestral versions of Land Of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia."
The problem apparently is with the line, "Britain never, never ,never shall be slaves". I rest my case your honour.

Where will it all end. I'm frightened to ask for a black tea or coffee nowadays. What about black ink, blacklead pencils, black shoe polish, tyre black and the list goes on, all for the chop I suppose.
Ah PC. A theory put forward by a delusional and stupid minority and promoted by the mainstream media on the premise that if one tries hard enough you can pick up a turd by the clean end.
The one thing i find really odd ,here in NZ, is that the elephant in the room ,`THE ALL BLACKS` seems to be totally ignored by the media when all this `black` hysteria is bandied about . Suppose rugby is too `special` to have this name altered . Makes you bloody laugh . Please can we turn the clocks back 20/30 yrs when life was less complicated ,not saying it was all good ,but a bit less cluttered with crap .

There's a huge difference between a racial slur and using a colour name. That many can't see this, speaks volumes. All Blacks, black coffee, blackboards aren't racial slurs and suggestions that will be deemed socially unacceptable (All Blacks aside) is trivializing the intent behind valid complaint.
Black currants, blackberries, a black pen, tyre black, black anodised, black plague, black keys (piano) Australian blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon), beyond the black stump, black water (grey water), Black ****atoo.
Let's not get onto male & female air & hydraulic hose fittings, grease nipples, threads etc!

I find it amusing that a word in the NZ language is "Pakeha", which means white man in Maori. Nobody minds, in fact they are proud of it. I'll bet that the same exits in other languages too, except all is quiet there.

Perhaps, before you make a post such as this, you could research how the All Blacks actually acquired their name, circa 1905? Nothing to do with the colour of their guernsey, and originally the team members wore white shorts.Cheers
