Hi snap,
I assume you have a petrol engine running on LPG.
I had gas injection (into the combustion chambers) on my last two Nissan Patrols (4.2L diesels) - added nothing but they had cast iron heads, I believe.

The issue relates to rapid valve to seat wear on gas powered petrol engines because the gas fuel contains no tetra-ethyl lead compounds to lubricate the valve seats. The use of stealite valve seat negates the need for any additional valve seat lubrication. The problem occurred particularly in a GM and Ford vehicles as the valve seats were cut directly into the cast iron heads. Alloy heads have always used Stealite valve seat inserts. The use of drip feeding oil into the induction system is as useless as was water injection and adding two stroke oil to diesel fuel.
Hi all; Snap1946, Years ago i had a 1981 Valiant car that i had a rebuilt 265 motor installed. I also had the car converted over to LPG shortly after. The new motor also had as a option of having a LPG gas head installed ( cost a extra $100.00 ). The mechanic that did the gas install also fitted a upper lub system and this consisted of a 500mm bottle that injected the lub oil into the manifold. The rate was set at one drop every 2 seconds with the motor set at idle and with a adjustment screw on the top of the bottle used to adjust the rate.
Snap1946 - I have a 2001 VX Commodore Wagon. Over 330,000kms on the clock. Put it on LPG just on 12 years ago(100000kms). No upper cyclinder lube used, has not had the head off it and the car and still going strong. Have the Sprinter system, dual venturi. Not looking at getting rid of it anytime soon. Only have had it gas serviced/tuned every 12 months. Doesn't use oil or blow smoke. Why would I even contemplatd wasting my money on a new car today. I love my Commodore.
