Last night my Imac was updated with the latest IOS and I can see that a privacy tracker has been added to the safari front page. There is now a report that gives you a summary of who was blocked from trying to track the sites you visited and the website you were on at the time. So far today I have a list of six trackers which have been blocked including google, Facebook and 2 others from a landscaping site that I visited looking for some ideas. No wonder you get targeted with unsolicited advertising I don't know if android systems have anything similar but it sure is eye opening to see how many people are gathering data on you.
On my Android phone I use Kiwi Browser which blocks a lot of ads. Filling in forms sometimes doesn't work, but for general browsing it makes things a bit more pleasant.
Sometimes it is quite handy using Firefox, the last version that will work, on my decade old Mac running 10.6.8 sometimes it spits the dummy, but often one can look at things without the BS with the latest OS on my phone.
Swings and roundabouts!
