SCHOOL HOLIDAYS AND BEES WHISKERS

WOW! Some kids are just lucky. Lucky as.

I was sitting at the traffic lights in down town Wangaratta, nth east VIC earlier today and to my right was a big 4x4 slightly forward of me, with darkened windows. The lights turned green and as I do, slowly went to move off when to my right a glimpse of a kid on a bike came out past the 4x4 and in front of me. I hit the brakes quicker than quick and reckon that kid was a bees whisker from my bull bar. He would have felt the breeze for sure I reckon. Good to know my reflexes are still with me and my advanced driver training was automatic. I noticed another kid on a bike just behind him but quickly did an about face.

The kid in front of me went to the side of the road on the footpath and as he did that, lights on the other side of the road started flashing and a cop car I hadn't noticed pulled up at the kid. I did a turn around and went back to see if all was OK. The kid reckons it was funny and the two cops didn't think so. Boy did they let fly with a lecture to the kid. They thanked me for coming back even though I didn't have to and having quick reflexes. They both said they saw the kid come out in front of me and thought he was a gonna. After my heart settled I continued on my way. I think I have lost a few days off my life span though. The bloke behind me pulled over as well and could believe I didn't hit the kid.

Just shows how quick things can but thankfully didn't this time, go belly up.

I reckon the kids mum and dad should buy a tatts ticket.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Doug I know the young ones think we are old fogies in the slightly slower pace we drive but if everyone drove at the HAVE TO BE THERE pace , potential accidents like yours could have been would be far more prevelent. Well done.

One chrismas eve I was just taking off with a green light and outa no where a fully fledged adult run full pelt into the drivers front guard, did a couple sumasaults over the bonnet then splat onto the road. Before I coould get out of car he was on his feet and gone. Drove around the block and went and reported it, cop noted it and had a chuckle, heard no more about it
cheers

Ahh Dougwe. Im sure my Son in Law could relate to that.
I was in Toowoomba with my Grandies when son in law picked up the boys from school.
Their 7 yr old son ran inside and said to me Nanny, Daddy saw a B**ch today. As I turned in surprise to look at S I L
He very sheepishly told me that a female jogger who has ear ph in , had run out in front of the car from the footpath without looking.
S I L let fly with a few choice words. 7yr old proudly related the story to me lololol

Good to see that you have still got your reflexes, Doug

Stay safe out there

Unfortunately kids just don't know what danger they are in, sometimes
