Thetford N604M.3F Fridge Problem on gas


I have a thetford N604M.3F which works on 240 & battery when driving. When chsnged to gas it gets up to temp but then will not turn back on & everything defrosts.Had gas checked & cleaned all parts pilot light stays on When turned to high it starts again but freezes everything. Turn down to medium or low all defrosts. Any ideas please.

Suggest you contact Thetford direct.
Thetford's customers service and assistance is generally excellent.
Had to contact them numerious times and always been impressed with their assistance.

Thanks Monica, have done that but not to helpful as it is 10mths out of warranty. Told me need to have the upgrade package fitted as fault with the fridge from new at my cost so not to happy with them

If Thetford have admitted to you that there was a problem with this model from new, then ACCC would be interested. Your consumer rights cannot be negated by a warranty

 There is what is called Statutory Warranty and their warranty is irrelevent.  You need to write or e-mail Thetford and tell them you are lodging a complaint with Consumer Affairs in your state for statuary warranty against your fridge.  If consumer affairs think that your fridge should be trouble free and last say seven years, if it fails in that time they should repair it.  You will win guaranteed if you approach it correctly.  The other issue why didn't Thetford issue a recall.  Not a good look for Thetford at all.
I would also put up an accurate review on Product Review and send that link to Thetford as well.  I would state in your review that you are now gong to pursue Thetford under Statutory Warranty.  I am sure Thetford will then quickly attend to your complaint promptly and without charge.  Consumer Affairs will be 100% on your side, however that takes time, so a Product Review as I have stated would bring prompt action.  Thetford are fools and should know better.  Send this URL of your post to Thetford as I am sure this will bring them into action.  Cannot understand a company in this day and age being so stupid to incompetent in their management of customers and their products.

Thetford has since decided to send me the upgrade kit for the fridge free of charge. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
