Caravan parks around Sydney or a place to park the van

hi there travellers. We are aiming to be in Sydney for 2 months February / March 21 and need some advice as where to park the van for 2 months whilst visiting grandkids. Ideally somewhere to park van, live in and visit. Any ideas would be welcome. Ideal location around Randwick.. Or 20min travel many thanks

There isn't much in your travel distances or I should say there's none, closest would be Lane Cove Holiday Park a bit over a km to North Ryde Metro with a 30+ minute to Central Station change to train at Chatswood I believe ( haven't been on the Metro yet), then either Light Rail or Bus to Randwick area. The 374 Bus is quicker then the LR.

All of which would be faster and better for your health then driving, unless you travel on Sundays.

Been a while since I've been to Sydney and not stayed with friends or a motel. Lane Cove Tourist Park was our go to and still gets good reviews.

Allan,
Best bet may be trying to get a Housesit where you stay in caravan and look after someone's Pet or Gardens whilst the are on holiday.
Perhaps a small ad in a local newspaper www.newspapers.com.au/sydney.html
Local Real estate agent may have a short term rental with off-street parking for van.

Hi Allan.

We joined the CMCA after chatting to a couple whilst we were in Tasmania in 2018.

The CMCA have a section where members offer site stays for free (although normally a donation is made to the host, we donated $10/night)

We made contact with Reg and Sue who were Berkshire (near Windsor). We did park and ride (5 min drive) to the train which took us to ANZ Stadium to see the Eagles and Sydney. Go Eagles.

Also Richmond RSL have quite cheep rates, which included membership to the RSL and $10 chips for the pokies. However the sites on offer are in a disused carpark, but gated entry.

Both these places are close to Penrith.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Hetho
