Should QLD pay NSW for the hotel quarrantine expensess
Permalink Closed

So my understanding is that all the state's had an agreement on how they pay hotel quarrantine expenses. So what's behind QLD tearing up the account sent to them from NSW?

The Qld Government want the Federal Government to finance building a new quarantine hub outside Toowoomba to get returned travellers out of Brisbane Hotels and say they won't pay up until it's approved. A lot of people in Toowoomba are not happy.

Oh, I think they should pay up if that is what they agreed to do.

Members of the Queensland Govt obviously are not the brightest stars in the sky. Their debt is to the NSW Govt, but they refuse to pay until the FEDERAL Govt approves a quarantine hub at Toowoomba. The two issues are unrelated, and there was an agreement by Queensland to pay for the quarantine of their residents. Now they refuse to pay....perhaps too much thinking involved here? Cheers

Remember the Toowoomba facility is a private development by the Wagners. So in reality no government money. Just a guarantee to use it.

Perhaps the good folk running NSW should learn not to call pollies from other states names while being owed $30 million.

Send in the Baliffs www.bailiffqld.com.au/index.cfm~:text=Queensland%20Bailiffs%20of%20the%20Supreme,%20District%20and%20Magistrates,effected%20according%20to%20the%20Rules%20of%20the%20Court.

What a disgraceful attitude being displayed by Annastacia Palaszczuk - how do we expect normal people to honour debts if this is how Labor Party renege on debts.

It shows a very immature person who is supposed to be the second in charge of Queensland.

Yet another reason to get rid of the states.

A very simple solution NSW will no longer accept interstate return travellers.

Interstate traveller please contact your home state for how you will return to Australia, as the NSW boarder will be closed to all non NSW residents requiring quarantine in NSW.

Our "beloved" Deputy Premier doesn't really come across as the sharpest tool in the shed!

Please explain....if a person of low repute owes me money, and I tell him that I believe that he is "A person of low repute",does that then give him licence to not pay me that money? Unfortunately, the forum forbids politics being discussed, but if it did not,I would be able to reveal a few home truths that would probably be understood only by those with a reasonable level of intelligence.Cheers

Yobarr. I certainly do not have inside the knowledge of politics that you claim to have. And I probably would not understand the home truths that you claim to have.
But states owing other states money for quarantine is more than Qld to NSW. How much does NSW owe QLD?

Ill go back to my original post on this topic and say that people with a reasonable level of intelligence do not call people names.

It's pretty BS. She said she said. There was a service provided by NSW. All state agree to the same deal. One immature politician is trying to score points with something totally unrelated. He has made a fool of himself and everyone knows it.

I was wondering that and also has nsw paid qld for people from nsw using qld facilities or is it reciprocal?

i dislike this,  i want something but the other party will only say yes when you do something for them. Its just wrong.

Who does who isn't the point. It's how it was handled.

According to today's news QLD had already agreed to pay the bill. So it's just an I'll informed stunt that has backfired.

This little problem simply comes down to Qld being broke and dont have enough to pay up even though they agreed to in the first place.

cheers

You get who you vote for so Queenslanders get used to silly and dangerous people in power and remember you put them there. The Queensland deputy premier only ripped up a contract worth $30 million. Dan Andrews ripped up one in Victoria that cost the Victorian taxpayers one billion dollars in defaulting costs for that contract.
