I'm up for a set of All Terrain tyres for the D max. 265/70/16. Had two sets of Bridgestone Duellers, reasonably happy. Looking at Maxxis and Falken for a change. Who's got what ?

Was involved in a couple of tyre companies about 15 years ago (silent partner)
When I needed tyres for the 80 series, saw the workshop manager and told him to do some research and get the best available. At that stage I fitted BFG A/T's and was very happy with performance.
When the next set was due I went for BFG again, but was disappointed with the amount of chipping.
We had a Dunlop super dealership for a while, hence Coopers agents, but would never go there.
Mate still in the business has a Kuhmo dealership, but he runs Mickey Thompson Deegan 38's on his car and van. Put them on the camper and very happy with them.
When it came time recently to put a new set on the BT50 I did my research. Could not justify the price of BFG or Mickey Thompsons.
Went with Toyo Open Country and very happy so far with the price and their performance.
I've currently got Coopers on my car. When I had another put onto a spare wheel, to support the stupid emergency wheel, the fellow at Tyrepower said that he had Maxxis on his 4x4
More info on the Toyo please. Ply rating. Road noise, etc. How many ks so far. Cheers DR.

I have Toyo Open Country, only done 20,000 kls so far. No sign of any wear whatsoever. Little to nil road noise. They are 275/65r Open Country A/t 11 121r Toyo.
Very pleased with them. One important point: if you decide on Toyo, make sure they are Toyo's MADE in JAPAN. There is a difference.

I have 265/75/16 on my BT50.
Most of the work they have done is towing a 2 t Blazeaid trailer around a paddock. So far have done 10,000 km, no puctures and not a problem with road noise.
They have a rating of 123R.

ran Falken for 65 000 kilometres on our crew cab ute, was reasonably happy, would of enjoyed more k's had the wheel alignment been done more professionally, thats is certain, now history.
Decided to go to a old brand that I used a lot on my trucks in the eighties and cars in the seventies "Michelin Tyres"
Some friends who are little more financially better off then me runs them on all their vechiles with amazing results for a few dollars more.
Micheln LTX Force. Load rating of 1120 kilograms, 265/70x17. Now have 30 000 kilometres on them, impressed with dirt road driving and quietness in the cab at about sub $250 each, may of paid $240 on special.
