800,000 cheap Flights

Morning all,

800,000 cheap flights for who exactlyconfuse. So the people at the top, know how to get the country going. Who is kidding who. We have job keeper ending this month. Job seeker getting the chop so to speak. Those self employed and carring staff, hanging on to the homes and jobs.

So they want everyone to just drop what they are doing, and stop the country.

Rural towns needing Grey nomads in their towns to keep their communities going. How about sending 800,000 RV's out onto the roads without been ripped off on FUEL prices.

Here in Sydney why on the cuff of Vanning season the price of Fuel yesterday @$1.62 for E10 alone.

What a lot of BS> What a Joke. Please don't put this in the Joke section Please.

Old & Grey

This thread is going to get very political very quickly!! But I agree that the airfares are discriminating against those who can't fly for whatever reason. But subsidising airfares is easy. How do you subsidise a road trip?

Over here there is only one discount ticket destination and that's Perth to Broome. I doubt there is any accommodation available in Broome. Yesterday the town of Exmouth was saying stay away, they are overfull with people camping on front lawns etc.

should have put it to the travel industry to arrange subsidized holiday packages so the whole industry gets a shot in the arm instead of a few sections. cheap airfare to specific destination does not mean a cheap holiday if you can't get a room when required (cost of accommodation goes up with supply and demand)

places like broome ,cairns , whitsundays have to rely on overseas tourists because it was cheaper for aussies to go to Bali . now that overseas is off the table they want us to fill the gap.

QLD crying poor, due to their overly enthusiastic border policies , now want everyone else to bale them out.

My understanding is that the priority was given to locations most affected by the closer of international flight.

As usual, overseas travellers can afford to pay the exorbitant prices.

Aussies cannot afford those fancy resorts. The Whitsunday Island we stayed at in the late 60's was quite affordable then, and although I am now much richer than we were back then there is no way I could afford to go for a holiday there now.

Australia for overseas travellers only no Australians allowed! Once again, we no longer own many of these desirable places.
