So News Corp are shutting down deliveries of newspaper to country regions. It's sad but I can understand why.

It's a case of once again country folks being second class citizens.
I often listen to "local" radio when travelling. During on recent trip to western Qld, every few hours a celebrity broadcaster would come on saying it was important to support local radio and local reporters. With the exception of ads, 100% of programming is centralized, often from Sydney and never from within the region. It's too little too late for calls to stop the loss of local content.
