If the report by the Rochester resident isn't a knee jerk reaction and carp are dying that shows the natives that were introduced have been eaten by said carp, otherwise they would have died before the carp. Carp can survive in a mud slush. No natives dead is good news.
Just how much would it cost the Authorities to divert some water from the Waranga Western Channel into Greens Lake?
A raised lake level will bring the return of the boaties, skiers, anglers, campers, caravaners, holiday-makers, Grey Nomads and visitors to previous high numbers from which proceeds support local communities.
It would be disappointing to see the wonderful new amenities go to waste after such large sums have been spent on new hot showers, flushing toilets, dump point and electric BBQ's.
It's typical bungling and wastage by various Govt. Authorities not coordinating a universal plan or strategy.
There needs to be a strong push from Council, State and Federal elected representatives to sort out this disgraceful situation.
