Yelgin rest stop near mullumbimby nsw

Hi everyone, has anyone stayed overnight at  yelgin near mullumbimby in the last few months. Wondering if we can stay the night. Want to go to lismore for a holiday but cannot drive that far in one day. We have stayed before but need to know before we set off. Thanks. Rocket

 Hi Rocket.

I believe the signage declares "No Camping" at Yelgin Rest Area.

According to Wiki Camps: Yelgun Rest Area.
NOTE: "This rest area is now under a parking restriction trial. The trial consists of four hour parking restrictions for light and recreational vehicles in general parking areas. No parking in heavy vehicle spaces for vehicles under 12 tonnes that is, light and recreational vehicles." ...... "Light and recreational vehicles can stop at this rest area for a maximum of 4hrs."

Chris, your post was a bit of an unkind cut mate. Don't you think that Rocket would go the extra distance if he could????? Keep going as long as you can Rocket.

No offence meant,Phil, but I simply wondered if she (profile says 'F') was aware of how little distance was left to complete the trip.As someone who regularly drove more than 1000km/day in my interstate 'career',I was surprised that 60km could force someone to pull up and sleep. This would,of course, depend on how far they already had driven, but I seem to recall that the OP lives a short distance NW of Brisbane? As Dean says,Sleepy Hollow may suit, and I wish the OP a safe journey.Cheers

Thankyou jade46, sounds good. Will try it. aging has its challenges but i try my best to make the most of what i got and life is for living and having a great time. I cannot wait to get to lismore now n see all my friends n even go to the nimbin  mardigrass. Its on my bucket list. I live wherever the  wheels stop. Life is good. Stay sane and thanks everyone for your input. Rocket

Hi Rocket. Sleepy Holow is a fairly small area and close to the highway so will be noisy most of the night.
If you can, dont arrive too late in the day.
Hope your trip goes well. Stay safe.

Realistically, there is no room for caravans. There are 8 parking bays for cars, and 5 bays for semis and B-Doubles,although there may be a bit of room in  unmarked areas.Keep driving if you're towing a van.Cheers
