Volunteering with Blazeaid gives you company, free camping and food and the best of all...helping out needy farmers. You don't have to do fencing if not fit enough , there is cooking, cleaning (only a few hrs a day) and admin plus lots of other helpful things you can do ....and great company too! A fewq days, weeks or months -you ARE needed. This message from Woorooloo in WA. There is also a camp up near Cyclone zone. Thank you to all the volunteers who have taken up the challenge to find 1000 volunteer days. Unfortunately we haven't been able to meet our target of 20 volunteers each day, we have come close but we need to meet that target in order to finish the job.
We have some wonderful people who volunteer every week, some have been out on the properties helping for months, some have given up one day a week, some can only come for the one day, businesses have sent groups, together they make up the army who have made such a difference to the property owners here in the Perth Hills.
Everyone can help, if you can walk a kilometre down the fence line, if you can use a pair of pliers, if you can carry one star picket, you can join our teams making a difference. If you can't do this, you can spread the word about what we do and how we need to do it now !

I did about 6 months with Blaze aid. Excellent group and experience. We had a few dogs over that time but never out on the job. They always stayed at camp.

FWDV encourages all Victroian FWD clubs to get involved. I had 3 weeks working in the Buchan area in the Vic highlands in the middle of winter! At 73 and unfit, the first couple of days were a challenge in the difficult terrain, but I soon toughened up and left the fittest I have been for 20 years. The experience was amazing. Just seeing 'broken' farmers come to life after we had fenced their properties was pure gold. I have never felt so proud of myself. The gratitude from farmers and the towns we worked in was overwhelming. BlazeAid are so professional and well equipped, so I certainly learned a great deal. Would heartily recommend it.

I did a fortnight with blaze aid at Adelong was a great privilidge to work at fence building I'm 79 and did not find it to exhausting, I enjoyed the fellowship of the others and went home feeling I have achieved a worthwhile thing for the farmers.
Did a Blaze aid stint a couple of years ago , during west QLD drought., fitted sliding doors to publicans house in Prairie near Hughenden while camping in pubs back yard. Great people and so very grateful for assistance. Keep publican happy and his customers - ****ies will be also.
