Clearview Next Gen Mirrors

I know there are several threads on Clearview Mirrors, but they seem to be about the 1st Gen Mirrors. I think the concept of the mirrors is great and it seems the 1st Gen Mirrors didnt have any real problems, but, Ive seen several sites that have had quite a few people who are having problems with the Next Gen Mirrors, from corrosion and flaking paint on the mounting plate to incorrect wiring and a lot of people saying that they cant contact Clearview or get them to return their calls regarding faults with the Mirrors.
So I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the Next Gen Mirrors? I dont want outlay $1,000 only to get a product that isnt up to scratch.

Hi Bill. Perhaps you could track down an example of the 1st Gen mirrors, thus saving yourself a lot of angst? Good luck.Cheers

It may be that anyone who has them here hasnt had an issue as yet, which is what you asked about. They are still reasonably new to market, and many here would have already been set up with mirrors when they did come out.

Pretty easy to tell the posts from family and friends.

Overall, this does not paint them in a good light, but i would be keen to hear from anyone who has got them.

They do not make them for my chosen tow vehicle, so i need to find someone that does.

Mmm, maybe Uncle Al has set in more than I thought because I don't seem to know much about '1st Gen' and 'next gen'?? Just maybe I shouldn't even admit that?

I have had Clearview Mirrors fitted to my Collie since September 2014 so more than likely they are the '1st Gen' ?? I can only speak about those but I have only had one problem with the R/H Indicator stopped, well, indicating. I had the opportunity to visit Clearview in Melbourne and found them nothing but helpful and friendly. They pulled the mirror off, tested and found nothing wrong. The manager came over and personally got on hands and knees and checked wiring etc on the Collie. He found a problem on the Collie side not the mirror but was very reluctant to fix the problem due to Warranty on the Collie so it was decided to take to Holden and get them to fix that problem. Long story short, it was sorted and the mirror indicator worked again.

I have had no other problems since and am extremely happy with the Clearview Mirrors even when not towing the Aluminium teepee The big mirrors are great. So much so I would never leave home without them.

Mmm, I can't smile

Yes Chief I have to agree. I have had excellent warranty service from Clearview, even though mine are 2016.

Seems also to be confusion as to whether the reviews are for gen2 or the originals.

The originals had corrosion issues and I doubt that the gen2 has been around long enough for corrosion to surface.

I am not family Graham. Plenty of happy customers about but not many actually write reviews.

Maybe check the M S A mirrors? I have them but no real km , thanks covid and a couple of medical problems. But very compact compared to original Clearview, which was the ONLY reason I went with MSA.

Thanks for the replies. And yes I have checked Reviews on other sites, hence the reason for my question on here. On the sites where Ive read reviews on the next Gen mirrors there were quite a few people that had problems with the mirrors, i.e. corrosion, paint flaking off and rubber perishing, and some of those said that they had problems getting Clearview to answer their complaints.
So I thought that Id try here to see if anyone had had the same problems, again thanks for the replies, I honestly thought that thered be a lot more people who had fitted the next Gen mirrors.
