car fridge - which side?

Hi. I just bought a 55L Dometic car fridge and will buy a fridge slide soon.

any tips on whether I should out it on the let or right side of my Prado?

GX model with no 3rd row of seats. Rear door opens from the left.

Thanks

Noel

Put on side that gives best access to fridge with rear door - leads can always be diverted if power jack on other side or have another dedicated jack fitted.

The main reason I put mine on the left side, Mitsubishi Challenger lift type rear door, is when we need access to the fridge and have to pull over we are further from the road than the right-hand side.

I think you should put it 18 degrees to the left of centre.

Where ever you place the fridge only ONE thing matters, it must not impede free and easy access to Emu Export cans.

If you have an AM aerial on the rear side window & you like listening to AM. Put the fridge on the other side.

Some AM interference info near the bottom of this page:

Oh! You 17 degree people have no idea about fridges.

Parallel to the angle between the two rear cross members dissected by the tangent of the front to back bumper angle - I'm surprised you need to ask!

Mine is on the left. Thats the wifes side and she can easily hop out of her seat and has easy access to grab me the hard earned after a day in the saddle.

Degrees are always measured on the radius Craig except when. Definitely on the left side of Zero don't play in the traffic.

As Whenarewethere said, it depends on maybe a radio interference issue or what you want to access most frequently in the cargo area. Depending on your own lifestyle, it may not be items from a fridge. Maybe other things: camera gear, swimming gear, boating accessories whatever?

Just a serious word of caution. We travel with a car fridge in our Jeep. No tie downs. One night I hit a kangaroo. That fridge went from the very back to trying to climb into the front seat. I had a camera tripod, in its bag, in the back and it did make it into the front and on the floor.

Where ever you put it tie it down.

I built my own bracket, the manufacturer's bracket was good, I bought one for ideas, but it was too high for the space, so I got my own design down to 6mm with release mechanism. Took about a month to design.

Thanks very much for all your suggestions.
And humour.
Perhaps the real question is not which side but what time is beer o'clock?
Cheers
