Have you looked at the other brands. We searched for about 3 months and we thought the Winnebago finish was not as good as others. They are built by Apollo MH in Brisbane who formerly built for the rental market before acquiring the Winnebago brand. They are nothing to do with the brand that has been around for years in USA. Consider the number of dealerships around Australia for when you have some problem and you will have some, there are many different systems in a modern MH. However everybodies idea of quality is different and if you are happy thats what counts

The Winnebago brand has taken the market by storm in recent times recording large sales volumes at Shows. This, I think can be attributed to the fact that their pricing is way below the competition although they did increase their prices recently.

The original Winnebago builders in Australia are now Avida and have been building motorhomes since the 1960's so they must be doing something right.

My advice would be to start with an ex hire unit for around $70/80k, gain some experience and then move up.

There are always mods you can add to an RV later. But you only get one chassis and one body. Make sure the chassis and body meet your expectations and don't worry about the bells and whistles. Good luck.

Agree re the finish on most of the Motorhome, however we liked the layout in the Illuka and that its on either the Iveko or the Mercedes. The fit out in the Fiats are of better quality however, I have heard theres lots of problems with the Fiats.

Hi TheHeaths, yes we were going with the Sunliner and was intending to tow a Jimny, however we cancelled as apparently its $9K to have an Engineers certification done on both vehicles, plus brakes on the Jimny fitted. Apparently when you change Motorhomes each time an engineer report must be supplied.

Thank you BGT, exactly what I thought, hence my like of the Mercedes and or the Iveko. My real preference if my wallet stretched enough would be the Paradise Motorhome, however its not meant to be.

Thank you Monte, noted, we did look for a second hand, however too rough for my liking and for the money. We can only do it right the once, hence its hard and appreciate everyones advice.
