Echuca and Swan Hill are two main towns that sit on the Victorian side of the Murray River. The Murray divides the two Australian States of Victoria and New South Wales. Due to Covid restrictions I could only visit the Victoria side of the river.
The two towns were thriving in the 1800's. River paddle steamers were used on the Murray River to carry coods and timber from nearby towns until eventually a railway was constructed.
The riverboats are still running as tourist attractions. Here is a video of some ot the highlights.
