You have the circulatory system of a young man, so one wonders why you were in hospital? Is 30 - 40 BPM too low?

I'm sitting down and my BPM is 90 (but I've just had a coffee).  I'm in the centre of the normal range for Body Mass Index. My parents are in their 90s, but I doubt I will survive for anywhere near as long.

Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?

A: Your heart only good for so many beats, and that's it--don't waste on exercise.
Everything wear out eventually.
Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it like saying you extend life of car by driving faster.
Want to live longer? Take nap.

30 - 40 BPM is slow. I am usually in the 60s - 70s but it goes down when I sleep. I am fitted with an implanted loop recorder which records 24/7 and that information is transmitted via a monitor beside the bed during the night when I sleep. The monitor runs on electricity and when we go away on holidays we free camp regularly so before we go away I contact the powers what be to let them know I won't be recording. My blood pressure is up since coming home from holidays at the end of June. I monitor and chart that 3 times a week and see my GP every couple of months. I am on a low dose blood pressure tablet. Cheers.
