Armidale and Guyra are to go into lockdown as of 5pm tonight, because a stupid lassy, whom went to Newcastle this week and came back. Se had visited a person whom had covid. This has pretty much ruined our chances to get to QLD by the 17th to see our daughter and grandkids. How come Australians are so stupid?, it is not just the young ones doing it, oldies are also at this game. Should throw the book at them. EDIT: This lassy has covid now too, and gave it to a room mate in Armidale

yobarr, I think they are just plain STUPID, Yes selfish as well, but it has to be mainly stupidity, and also intend to be WILFUL, knowing the are breaking the law. The Hunter has been in lock for over 10 days I think, so she couldn't have not known that. The law are looking into charges at the moment, but Bet it will be only a $400 fine. Jailing is the only thing that will teach them a lesson.

She was pretty unlucky there were only 2 cases reported up until Thursday in the whole of the Hunter which has a population of over 500,000 people. Apparently the cases came from a party held on Blacksmiths Beach attended by people from western Sydney, does that mean that this "stupid girl" came here for that party or was she just unlucky enough to have been in the same place as someone else who did ? The Armidale area maybe in lockdown due to something that has been out of their control but so are over 2,000,000 people in the Hunter, Central Coast, Blue Mountains and the Illawarra regions due to our friends in Sydney not staying at home during a lockdown. The Hunter has only been in lockdown since Thursday night when the first cases were identified so its possible that the girl may have left for Armidale long before any covid cases had been reported in the area. You want to make comments on peoples stupidy or selfishness thats your perogative but maybe you should get your facts straight first.
The only reason we have the virus up here is because of people stupidity. The cities should be locked down, permanently. Only the very essentially to come to the bush after they have been test and waited in isolation for the required time. If the govts. want to stop it going all over the bush and country, they are going to have to go real hard, jail people whom break a lockdown. If all roads out of the cities were closed, it wouldn't be in the bush. We have survived for 18 months with no festering virus up here until now. 90% of our pop. have not been vaccined, because we have not had the access to it. This girl stuffed up and so has the government, and the people breaking lockdown from the city. So since the 27 July, many people have gone in every direction out of Armidale due to it's 4 roads heading to to other destinations. This issue will blow up bigtime now.

Unless you know more than the reports the girl your refering to was a student at Newcastle Uni who was living on campus, she caught the train home to Armidale to visit either family or friends days before the first case in the Hunter was even reported - you want to "jail" her (at least learn to spell it first). The last I heard Armidale was classified as a city so by your reasoning it should also be locked down permanently or doesn't that suit the narrative ? You think New England is the only region in Australia with a low vacination rate have a look around you its possible that a lot of the country is in exactly the same boat. Maybe if people stopped pointing their fingers at others and made sure that they followed the rules themselves we could find a way out of this.
