I had a cold/sinus virus(not bacteria as there is no phlem) and now for the past 4 weeks the back of my through is dripping have had to clear it out from time to time and it's keeping me awake at night.
The Doctor said it was a change of weather(I was lucky enough to be in WA(August) and then back home cold miserable Melbourne. She gave me a drug called Dymista to spray once a day up the nostrils for the next 6 or so weeks as she also thinks it's an allergy.
I have seen little difference, the only change is that come 3 o'clock in the arvo it starts to drip where I notice it.
Doctor says min 6 weeks to go away by itself.
Well this is driving me nuts, so has anyone gone thru this before and found a cure that shortens or gets rid of the drip?
Please let me know if you had anything close to what I have and how you cured it.
Doctor google says drink plenty of water/tea and no coffee or soft drinks which I have done but seen no difference.
With post nasel drip it is a great help to do a sinus flush morning and night to clear your sinuses, you will need to buy the sinus flush bottle but you can make your own solution with equal parts plain salt and bi carbonate of soda add about half a teaspoon to the bottle. They charge up to $20 for 2 months worth of saline sachets.
I use it morning and night most days, once you flush blow the remainder into a tissue you will notice the result especially in the morning.
At night you will notice that your breathing better thru your nose which should lead go a better night's sleep.
