Shrinkage

Opened a packet of my favourite biscuits the other day and they were about the size of a 50 cent piece, looked at the packet and it was 200g net.

It was that small they can't even fit the word Arnotts on the front of the packet.

Why do they reduce the size to try and keep the price down? Surely we can absorb a price rise (like petrol) to keep our products the same volume and weight.

Shrinkage is not a good thing at our age............nonono

It happens a lot, I noticed a while ago that my favorite icecream; Peters caramel/chocolate/vanilla mix $5 for a 2 litre container is now $5 for a 1.8 litre container, a 10% volume reduction but no price reduction. All kept quiet.

Cheers
Richard

Kingston have always been sold in 200gm packets. The biscuits themselves are only slightly smaller than they were originally and that changed in 2015 or so. Unless its a very recent change. They've always been a smaller biscuit than most Arnott's bikkies.

Yes, they are a smaller biscuit Dabbler, now they have shrunk to nothing, and it has only just happened recently as we had a packet less than a month ago.

They where the same as Monte Carlo..........250 grams a packet.

It's not just biscuits, pull a bag of cereal out and stand it next too the box, about halfway if you are lucky.

All packaging and contents are shrinking at a rate that is fooling most people and the price stays the same.

Cheers Bob

I reckon they are somehow shrinking even when the stated weight is still the same, cant work it out, but the cook says the same thing. Aldi are getting a fair share of our bikkie money these days.

The one thing that has not shrunk " Melbourne Premiers 2021 " poster. My laminated one just arrived, looks great. Profits to the Royal Children Hospital appeal as well.

Yep used to be two bites, now just a smidge over one

On some products there is a small "e" after the weight in grams...stands for estimated.

This is packaging from pre-2015, before logo and branding changed. Note the 200gm. They're a favourite in thus household.
Any Kingstons from a 250gm package last month must have been bloody stale. Any recent size change in individual biscuits is minimal if real.

Not the only shrinkage problem!

Australian tea break biscuit story.

Monte Carlo was an Iced Animals dumping Marie behind the Cheds. His Jaffa Cakes were in poor Shapes with his Honey Jumbles looking more like a Raspberry Shortcake.

Iced VoVo was a Tina Wafer with big Royals, he took her for Morning Coffee at the Savoy where they Jatz Clix.

Behind the TeeVee Snacks on her Spicy Fruit Roll while looking for the Mint Slice and then enjoying a Milk Arrowroot and thought it was Nice.

But it would cost him Hundred and Thousands when he put his Scotch Finger on her Date Slice behind the Venetian.

Honey Snaps, she's no Tartlets grabbing him by his Ginger Nut while he is into the Coconut Rings like a YoYo, and made him SAO.

Later Tim Tams Monte with a Teddy Bear while he is under the Wagon Wheels.

Time Tic Tocs, nine months after Custard Creams, Water Crackers. He was Arno Shortbread but lost his Vita Wheat and now is Shredded Wheatmeal on his Quatro.

No more Bush Biscuits or Chocolate Ripple, only Cruskits. His finances are Lemon Crisps and can only afford Salada.

Tiny Teddy, a little Kingstons with his Caramel Crowns, Butternut Snap out of it or will be Delta Cream, has grown out of Chocolate Wheaten, is off the Malt O Milk and into Milk Coffee with Orange Slice and is a Scalliwag no more.

You might have me on the packet size Dabbler, but I'll eat Craig's Demons poster if the individual biscuits aren't smaller than last month.

Have a Google of Kingston biscuit size and read the comments to show that I'm not on my Pat Malone.

Criminal I reckon...............Cheers Bob

It doesn't mean you're correct. Did you get fewer but larger Kingstons once ? Perhaps you could write to Arnotts and post the response here ?

I love Kingstons. I can feel the sugar crunch as I bite into them.
