I think it was taken in an UFO incident, and when they brought it back, the just plumped it anywhere, because it looked dumbfounded, But I am open to suggestions
The internet states that the highest jump by a grey kangaroo is 13.5 metres (44.2 feet), though they may be confusing height and length. In any case kangaroos can sometimes jump over 10' fences. So jumping onto a single storey roof doesn't sound too hard. The question is why did it jump up onto the roof?

My bet is that it was being chased by dogs and jumped onto a wall and up from there.
Either that or aliens dropped it back in the wrong place after probing
