The threaded cap on the left, I think, is from 20 gallon fuel/oil drums, I have also seen the handle on the bottom right, but can't remember where, and what it is for. The brass nuts, are off oil lines, have seen them on boilers. *** The brass handle, looks like it is a brake handle for coal powered steam trains, just remembered where I did see that.

Fishermen used them to easily lengthen a cray pot line when they moved to deeper water, very occasional failure, so you lost the craypot and potential contents. But very convenient and easier to undo than a mongrel wet knot in sisal rope.
Sorry Jeff, only stained pine , colour is Rosewood, a left over bit of project from daughters highschool, some 23 or 4 years ago. Thanks for the name of clips, could never remember.
