I finally did a vlog on Kali my cat for those who travel with a cat or furry friend. In this vlog I cover a little about how I started her off in van life and the things we need to cover in daily life. Some of it will relate to other furry friends however its mainly targeted to those who travel with cats. As this was a pretty big vlog to do I probably didn't cover everything as I ran out of time but would love to know what your tips are if you have any travelling with furry friends.
Hehe Yes I would love to be taken care of as much as she! Thank you...
I am looking at going to Tasmania next year and looking for advice on getting a cat over the spirit of Tasmania boat anxiety free as possible. Would you have any tips?
Going into Tasmania it is not permitted to bring in fruits & vegetables so if you are travelling by camper van make sure you clear out your fridge. Note: Dogs require documentary proof of being treated for Hydatid Tape Worm within 14 days before entering Tasmania. Cats are granted free passage without restriction.
You would need to have her contained for entire voyage across the water - I believe they permit you to "contain" her in Motorhome, rather than putting her in a cage.

Oh wow I thought cats would need the treatment same as dogs. Yes I heard it can be quiet rough going over and more so depending on where the van is situated on the boat. Ok thanks for the info!
i used to do the crossing regularly with my dog who had to be put into the cages on deck.
i 'know' people who left their dog in the motorhome for the entire journey where they had their normal bedding and werent exposed to the wind/waves outside
just dont feed them but give plenty of water.
my dog never crapped/peed inside so it would have been uncomfortable to be stuck indoors for 12 hrs
dogs had to have a recent vaccination C5 certificate as well as other treatments (i cant recall what they were
give them a call anonymously to see what the requirements are and make your mind up from there
be mindful that quarantine will send their sniffer dog inside so you will have to keep the puss away from them

Hey thanks so much for the info. I had heard that this is what some people do. I also heard that you can leave them in there if you sign a waiver. I have also heard that depending where on the boat the van is situated could be a hit and miss situation with the van rocking around.
