Don't waste your money on those.
I worked in the design and manufacture of eveporative coolers for 25 years. Good ones are good. These are not.

I got one given to me, a Lions version, people went mad for them, it is 12/240 volt, and " You can even put the fluid filled plastic tubes in the freezer," it only works in dry heat, basically the desert and even then I would give mine a 2 out of 10 rating.

Ours provided a relief from the heat at Lake Mungo where it was 35+ degrees. You basically had to be in the air stream to feel comfortable but it was good to have some relief when we had no 240v A/C available.

A friend uses one when on lunch breaks when travelling with his van on hot days, also puts in small ice cubes supposedly for better cooling. Does not bother getting out the gennie and starting up to run the roof air con.

I can recall a discussion about the DIY coolers that used a modified esky or broccoli box full of ice with a 12v fan that blew air through a tube imbedded in the ice. The output of the tube was directed toward the person or area that required cooling.

No idea if it works or not & I just never got round to trying out the idea. Just more junk to cart about as we almost always camp with 240v. (eg. I've used my solar & battery system once - just to test it out - over the 2 years since I installed it ... LOL)

I suppose the problem is keeping up the ice supply.

Just saw this.
Still a "peronal cooler" but will do a better job than those other toys. Just make sure it gets fresh air all the time and does not recirculate it.
