1986 Jayco Pop Top - Suspension

Hi, I recently purchased a Jayco Pop Top 1986, a project for my wife and I. What I am looking for is information about the type of suspension used on this van, there are no shocks or leaf springs so I am unsure of the type of suspension and how to service, contacted Jayco but unfortunately because of the age of the van they were unable to assist. Also I am looking for a user manual, once again unfortunately no assistance from Jayco. Cheers Don

Contact Colin Young at www.caravancouncil.com.au/ He would be able to advise - I was under the impression that Jayco were using Leaf Spings with Slipper Bracket on rear mount, on their single axle vans in the 80's.

Of course they could assist, if they wanted to. And they would, if there was a buck in it for them?

Post a photograph.

Cheers,

Peter

More than likely a rubber type suspension such as, or similar to,  Al-Ko.......  KB

Donmill,

I am under same impression as Possum, ie normally had a leaf spring suspension on Jayco vans until they introduced their new independent suspension with the Silverline 7 or 8 years ago.

May be a retrofit to replace original in your vans case.

A photo of what you have may help get an answer for you to work with.
