Finally Got Away On A Trip.

Since Covid-19 arrived 2 years ago we've only been away camping for 2 weeks back in March 2021.

Here we are at Green Hills Lake near Ararat.

Weve been here for a week, a free camp but a suggested donation of $5/nt is well worth it. Water & dump point available, we don't go near the amenities block.

Its the long weekend at the moment but the available area to camp in is huge, so it doesn't feel crowded at all

Plenty of wildlife/birdlife, nice walks & people are catching some nice Redfin in the lake.

In a few days time we move on to Lake Buninjon near Wilaura for a week and then to Freshwater Lake near Dunkeld for another week. Both of these spots are near the Grampians.

Not the most exciting itinerary but after 2 years of being homebound it'll do us fine. Hopefully in the future we'll get back to our usual Australia wide travels.

It feels great to be back out in the bush!

The only time that we've been near other people is to top up with fuel. We've been getting all our groceries home delivered.

Even our dog looks happy to be out & about.

Stayed there in Jan on way over to visit Vic grandkids, lovely place. We took everything needed to be self sufficient and kept away from everyone because our logic was "if we were going to get Covid we would prefer to get it hugging the little people we have missed so much" (didn't catch it).
We will use it as a stop over again, but next time we will make sure we park further away from others and definitely not downwind from generators.
We had sun, then hail and rain, which culminated in a fabulous sunset because of the cloud formations.

"Not the most exciting itinerary"

86, it's an itinerary so that is all that matters. Enjoy but,

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Sunrise Green Hill Lake.

Thought I'd add a few photos after getting home. For some strange reason they didn't appear when posted from our phone.

G'day 86, I haven't been in here for a while and noticed you put up some very nice pics. It looks a lovely spot for sure. I also noticed the important member of the family gets a nice safe comfy drive.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

Thanks Dougwe, our trip was so successful that we're planning another 4 weeker starting in 3 weeks time.

This one will be to the Mallee.

Stay tuned.
