I had the usual rubber like hoses and replaced with the more flexible metal ones after three years. I have read just recently somewhereto change the hose and regulator on a Weber Q every 12 months for safety. Maybe CV's are similar.

The braided one's have rubber on the inside, and only last outside maybe a couple of years. I used them On home installation once and they last about 4 years before they started to leak. The copper one's are the best ones, but if you want to keep them pliable, it is best to replace them every 3 years as well.
Because of some repeated awkwardness in changing gas bottles, located in my van's boot, I replaced my copper pigtails for gas with flexible hoses. I used "s core" gas hoses rather than the normal braided stainless steel. Supposedly s core hoses give better longevity. I engaged a gas fitter to complete the job as I stripped a fitting. The gas fitter made positive comments about the quality of the s core hoses.
My hoses are in the boot, out of sunlight. Some folk have concerns about UV damage. My suggestion is to shield or sheath those hoses with something else.
StrNge as it may seem braided can be very hard to check ? Except the water / detergent application to check for leaks . Try not to crimp the hose ! I try fit longer hoses so less chance of tight bending & crimping . With elect saddle to prevent crimping ! . Ten years is the life span ! Imo with todays cheap standards . Should be two years . Supposed to check hose on every bottle fitted !!
The braided hose that is suspect is on our caravan is possibly from new 2012, I replaced the other one in 2017 but I do believe the gas hoses have jumped in price in last few years since regulation changed stopping the local handy store from selling gas hoses with certain fittings and requiring a gas fitter to do the work.
If that is the case, I will remove the 2 way tap and only use one hose, as one bottle runs out, I will just change the hose over, no big deal.
The braided hose has the same failure rate as cheap Chinese rubbish with plumbing on toilets & under sinks. Annually replace them or buy non Chinese rubbish.
Our neighbours had done a major renovation, a week later a hose failed, fortunately the insurance paid up, so did the major renovation a second time, but their insurance premium went up next year.

The (colourful) outer sheath is UV and abrasion proof while the corregated stainless steel inner tube is kink resistant and corrosion resistant. The factory crimped ends don't fatigue (in sensible use).
S core beats reinforced rubber or mesh coated rubber every which way. And it is competitive in price.
bye.

Hi , I have a piece of shade cloth wound around the top of my gas bottles and secured with some zip ties. Keeps UV off the hoses . Can push through the top opening with my hand to turn gas bottles on and off . Phil
hi Tight radius bends eg sudden vertical down from a horizontal fitting aka regulator fix= put a 90 deg fitting on regulator nothing u can do about the POL on bottle
Oh if u buy from any dealer with a gas certificate. Ensure u have the van inspected b4 purchase .
Jayco , used camper
leaking flex hose
rigid pipe from reg not mounted properly and hitting hand brake cable
gas bottle mounting broken bolts and lose
jayco fringe vents blocked yet fridge could still run

Hi, as a licenced gas fitter i would reccommend soapy water testing regularly and use of best quality braided hoses especially if exposed to elements or solid copper pigtails as long as they are not in a position as to crink as a very tight radius bend.
