Pressure gauges on gas bottles can not work because the vapour pressure is always the same (subject to temperature) until the bottle is empty.
There is nothing that describes how the Bromic devise actually works.
If it is imporant, get yourself some fibreglass gas bottles. You can see the gas level.

My offspring wanted ideas for a Christmas present, so received a SmartSense gas bottle level monitor.
Blue connection via its app to my phone to see the level in one bottle. I regularly check when travelling so I change over before a bottle runs out overnight while supplying the fridge. Though I have to change the sensor from one bottle to the other, too. Works fine.
The sensor battery needed replacement after one year.

Don't confuse the Bromic auto changeover units with the GasFuse which has a pressure indicator that is supposed to display the contents remaining in the gas cylinder. The Bromic units are just changeover units and not contents gauges.

The Bromic style units have been around for years. I remember them back in the 1960s. LPG cylinders maintain a near constant pressure whilst they have a useable amount of gas in them. The changeover units flip over when the gas pressure drops a bit as the cylinder contents run out.

I looked at them when I installed a gas stove in my residence in late 1970. I did not have one installed as I opted for the 420 lb tank that was topped up and not the pair of 100 lb gas cylinders.

We and most houses in our area have them on 2 x 45kg cylinders. They work just fine but consider them rather expensive for a caravan/ motorhome. As said above fridge wont melt overnight if one bottle runs out

I had to replace a broken flex gas hose and wanted a spare so the regulator kit with the hoses won't be that much more and I get a system that will keep me in front of the empty bottle problem thanks for all your replies I will give a review after next trip Regulator ordered should be fitted this week catcha bob

I would prefer a manual changeover valve. That way there is no risk of finding we have run out of gas when both bottles are empty.

We have used an auto change reg for 10 years. Has been absolutely fantastic.

Our 2 cylinder house supply has an automatic changeover switch. After having been caught out a couple of times by running both bottles out of gas, I now have a placard above the bottles instructing the gas man to leave the new bottle with its bottle valve closed. The only disadvantage being that occasionally I may have to get out of bed to change over the bottle supply after the wife yells that the shower has run out of hot water. LOL.

The auto change over regulators have a red indicator to tell you the regulator has changed over to the non selected bottle. When this is showing you can remove the empty bottle without gas leakage and get a full one when convenient.We usually empty a gas bottle in about 14 days, so we have this much time to get a refill.

Interestingly just yesterday called the friendly mobil certified Gasman to come and check our caravan gas system as I believed we may of had a pigtail gas leak, also after nearly 10 years, to replace the gas regulator.

Checked the gas regulator and a slight adjustment there, all good.

Checked pigtails found one leaking, the other stiff and old

The 2 way tap ontop of the regulator was the leaking culprit, it was replaced with a 90 deg bend and now sports only one new hose.

Instead of turning a tap, now need to change pigtail to spare bottle each time we run out of gas. About 10 times a year.

Job done and good for another 5 years.

Now minus a tap and a pigtail, a bit more weight out of the caravan.
