After 10 years of use the Thetford plastic toilet bowl has developed urine stains. We have kept it very clean at all times but it is now showing its age.
Is there a product that can be used to restore it? We have tried several old house hold remedies like vinegar and bi carb etc but to no avail. Surely there is a remedy for the problem.
This is a mould cleaner, but we use it in our toilet now as we have recently gone onto town sewerage, and it cleans ceramic bowls as well as vinyl, and it does clean urine stains. I would test it on a small area first before you clean, plus it wouldn't hurt to fill your tank with a lot of water to disperse it's concentration in that tank. You get it at Bunnings for about $12 for 750ml, it's name is Selleys Rapid Mould killer and cleaner. Just put it on for no more then a minute then wipe off. It does it's job after it has been on for no more then a minute. It is a spray.

The surface has probably deteriorated ....best thing to do would be replace with a new one.....not all that dear and fairly easy to change over.....
Thetford sells a Toilet Bowl Cleaner but don't know if it will be effective if vinegar didn't do any good. Just check out anything that isn't from a caravan toilet company before you use it, to make sure it's ok on plastic.
KJB may be right and the easiest could be to get a new bowl.
