Front Galley bench hatch

Hi   What have people done to improve their front galley hatch. Ours is really difficult to use as we often have stuff sitting on the bench. It is impossible to keep vegetables in there as it gets too warm from the fridge or AC when in use.

I was thinking of removing the basket altogether and just making it a pot / appliances storage erea, to be accessable from the cupboard door, for things we dont use often.

What have you done with yours please.   Stewart

Left the basket in there and store the toaster and a few pot lids and other bits in it. As you suggest, access to the storage area is easy through the cupboard door. The basket itself is never removed but makes a good wall at back of storage area. Works for me! Cheers
